Aggressive is in the Job Description

Peter Dunne isn’t the only one labouring under the delusion that the job of the media is to fuck off and publish flattering profiles; Labour appear to be taking to the idea of gagging the press with a vengance.

Freedom of speech was not served by TV3 interviewer John Campbell or TVNZ interviewer Mike Hosking, who were “aggressive and rude,” he said.

Of course, there’s widespread support amongst Labour MPs for banning reporters from being “aggressive”. I despair. I really wonder if Benson-Pope really believes the mendacious crap he’s spouting—and is hence too stupid for words—or whether he’s just angling to set up his Ministry of Truth as a self-serving exercise.
